Branksome Hall Asia is a non-religious, private girl’s boarding school that offers from the Primary Years Program to the College Prep courses based on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

  • The International Baccalaureate
    Branksome Hall offers education for all students from the Primary Years Program to the College Prep courses based on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Therefore all students will complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme by their graduation.

  • Class Information
    One homeroom teacher is designated for each class of about 20 students Following Accelerated Integrated Method(AIM) program, the French class is mandatory from the 6th grade, and professional Informational Technology(IT), Library Research Skill (data class), PE, Music, Art classes are available for all students. Middle school students are provided with a personal locker, lounge and rest areas in the middle school building, and each high school student pursues individualized class schedule according to her choice of classes.

  • Language in the International Baccalaureate (IB)
    Branksome Hall offers the IB Diploma Programme for 11 and 12th grade students, and it is mandatory for those students to learn two different languages. The two different languages refer to the native language (A1) the student uses most frequently, and the second language other than their native language.

  • ESL Program
    Branksome Hall operates the ESL program for various levels of English proficiency -Basic ESL Support Program offers specialized ESL classes. -The students also have an option to take a TOEFL prep courses.

  • International Language Courses at A1 Level
    Branksome Hall currently offers Cantonese, Mandarin, German, Russian, Spanish, and French class, and other language class may open if there is high demand. Those international language classes are certified by the IB Diploma and International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. There will be additional tuition for the student who takes the International Language Program (A1).

    Branksome Hall has established a transparent and perfected curriculum for the elementary years' students, through the IB Primary Years Program (PYP) based on the 5 core educational factors. (concepts, skill, knowledge, discipline, action) The PYP teaching method is known as the most effective method in the elementary education with its inquiry-centered, holistic approach. With the internationally accredited 6 Trans disciplinary Themes, Junior School students at Branksome Hall Asia engage in a challenging curriculum that cultivates global mindset, challenging spirit, and accurately understand a broad range of concepts. With the best teaching method developed from our teaching philosophy and educational research, we provide a solid and consistent blueprint of learning to students from Kindergarten to elementary years.

    Banksome Hall - Middle & Senior School

    The years from Grade 7 to 12 are a time that requires the most effort to help our students reach their full potential as learners and leaders at the school, and as accomplished citizens of their wider community. The Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program are the cornerstones of learning at this level. This pedagogy is also in lieu with the inquiry-based classes conducted from the junior school, and all counselling and academic support are provided to each student so that she can prepare for college admission and personal goals. Many opportunities await for our students to become involved in athletics, arts, leadership and community service.

    4. Other document suitable for the school to assess the student's previous academic achievement (Ex: Educational Assessment)

    5. The Student Profile completed by the student herself (Grades 4-12)


    Interview Schedule


    When the application is submitted, you will be contacted by the Admissions office to arrange the interview schedule. Branksome Hall will help the student to arrange the interview date and time at the student's convenience. When visiting Branksome Hall, both students and parents will attend together, and can have a school tour with a guide. Please consider Interviews as informal events, as the interview are meant to help both the school and the applicant get to know each other better.


    Admission Test


    The admission test will be administered in a way appropriate for each age group of students. Students applying to kindergarten and elementary program are given the most up-to-date, holistic assessment. Students applying to middle school are required to prepare a portfolio with school grades and personal accomplishments, to be presented during the interview. All students applying to Grade 9 to 12 must take the SSAT (Secondary School Admissions Test). Students unable to take the SSAT are required to take Branksome Hall's own admission test.
